Uhuru Highway will remain closed for the next 21 days beginning Friday May 30.

In a statement, Kenya Highway Authority (KeNHA) says the move is to pave way for the ongoing construction of the Nairobi Expressway along Mombasa road.

The most affected area is the section between Bunyala roundabout and Nyayo stadium roundabout that will consequently affect people and motorists using Waiyaki way, Mombasa road, and Uhuru highway.

Motorists leaving town via the Uhuru Highway will have to use Bunyala Road-Workshop Road-Lusaka route to connect to Mombasa Road at the Nyayo roundabout.

The Authority has urged motorists to follow road signs, traffic management plans and also asked to seek alternate routes until a safe, reliable road network is established.
