Sultana actress Winnie Bwire, known by many as Diba, opened up about her recent split from her ex-fiance, Dan Sonko.
A month after Dan's announcement of their separation, Winne has now reaffirmed the news and shared her perspective on their relationship.
In an interview with YouTuber, Lynn Ngugi, the thespian expressed her gratitude to Dan Sonko for being a rock during her darkest moments and stated that they would always remain friends.
"Dan and I are really in a good place. We are not together anymore, but he is my friend. This person has seen me through a difficult time in my life. He has walked me through some of my own, and I have walked him through others," she explained.
Despite their split, Winne made it clear that they continue to hold each other in high regard and cherish their friendship.
"As much as people would want to focus on that situation from a negative point of view after going through my heart, I sit here and say he is my friend," Bwire revealed during the interview.
Dan announces breakup with Winnie
Dan Sonko announced their split in July 2023 and updated fans through an emotional message on his official Facebook page.
"Bwire Ndubi and I are no longer romantically together. We are still very good friends, but when it comes to love/family - to each their own. We still maintain a cordial business relationship. I respect her as a queen in her own right. I care deeply for her, but the decision we arrived at was mutually agreed," Dan wrote.
The two actors had started dating in 2018, a year after the passing of Dan Sonko's wife, Druscilla, who lost her life during childbirth.
