Gospel singer Ruth Matete has explained the source of a big scar that she has on the right side of her back.
The singer explained that she suffered the scar while she was a toddler.
Burnt by porridge
In a recent interview, Matete disclosed that she was burnt by split porridge while she was 2 years old and thus her injury.
She explained that the porridge damaged most parts of her body and left her with a huge scar on her back.
"You see that scar on my back? That's just what you can see. When I was young, I got burned by porridge. I was barely walking. I crawled, and touched the tip of the pot (sufuria) and it toppled over
“Long story short, I burned 80%. I don't know what that means, I just know it's a lot of burning," Matete said.

Matete explained that following the accident, she is currently limited on the type of clothes that she can wear.
She said parts of her body that was affected include her thighs, part of her hands, back and part of her head.
“The whole of my back, both of my thighs, parts of my hands, and a small part of my head. I mean, God was so gracious the parts that were burned are those I can hide with clothes. Now I know I was born to serve Him. Mini skirts, haiwes mek,” Matete added.
Ready to remarry
This came days after Matete disclosed that she is ready to date again.
Matete said she had promised herself to stay single for at least two years before getting into a new relationship.
She went ahead to ask men to try their luck if they are attracted to her.
“I told myself I would give myself about two years before I can now think about being with another man. It’s actually two years past so shoot your shot if you wanna shoot your shot,” Matete said.
