Musician Nviiri Sande, popularly known by his stage name Nviiri The Storyteller, has announced his departure from the Sol Generation record label.

In a statement issued on Monday, April 15, 2024, Nviiri thanks the label and Sauti Sol for nurturing his talent for the last five years.

"Dear fans, friends, and fellow music enthusiasts, It is with immense gratitude and excitement that we announce the culmination of a remarkable chapter in Nviiri The Storyteller's musical journey.

After five incredible years under the nurturing wing of Sol Generation Records, we bid farewell with hearts full of appreciation for the invaluable support, mentorship, and platform provided by the label and the visionary force behind it, Sauti Sol," Nviiri said.

Adding; "Our time with Sol Generation Records has been nothing short of transformative. Through their unwavering belief in Nviiri' s talent and artistic vision, we've witnessed the evolution of a true musical gem. From chart-topping hits to soul-stirring performances!"

The musician further announced that he had hired three managers to manage his music career following the exit from Sol Generation.

"As we step boldly into the future, we invite you to join us on this exhilarating adventure, as we write the next chapter in the story of Nviiri The Storyteller," Nviiri said.

Nviiri's exit comes a year after his peer Bensoul announced his exit from Sol Generation.

Speaking to a local radio station in April 2023, Bensoul opened up about his plan to exit Sol Generation at the lapse of his contract.

The musician revealed he was leaving to open his own record label dubbed 'Lion of Sudah'.

He noted that he was leaving at a time when he felt he had gathered enough experience for him to run his own label, adding that things are already in motion to make the transition as smooth as possible.

"Considering everything that I have learned at Sol Generation I feel like I’m ready to handle my own empire and make sure I take care of other artistes on the way. I feel like I’m in a better place and I really want to be on my own- work on my life, my career, and everything," Bensoul said.

Sauti Sol break

Nviiri and Bensoul left Sol Generation after Sauti Sol took an indefinite break from working as a group.

The band members, Bien-Aime Baraza, Willis Chimano, Polycarp Otieno and Savara Mudigi on May 20, 2023, announced that they will go on a break from group projects after their final tour.

Sauti Sol held a final performance at their Third Edition of the Sol Fest in Nairobi on December 16, 2023, before each member went their separate ways.
