Businesswoman Mitchelle Ntalami has revealed details of her conversation with slain LGBTQ activist Edwin Chiloba.

In a series of posts via her official Instagram account, Ntalami recounted that she had held discussions with the fashionista about his relationship with Jackton Odhiambo who is the main suspect in his murder.

"Its heartbreaking to see that yes, you have now been recognized globally, but in such a tragic way. Painful, that he who claimed to love you broke your heart over and over, and eventually took your life. We talked about it so many times. That was not love. But that pure heart of yours would not let go. Oh darling," she wrote.

She also paid tribute with memories of their good times together and how they met.

"I once shared a personal story with the world, and it moved him so much that he sought me out just to share some of his own love and light. The first photo is us on Valentine’s Day 2022, the very first time we met. He travelled all the way from Eldoret to Nairobi just to see me and give me this bouquet of roses, as he knew I wasn’t having the best one," she wrote.

"Fast-forward to June, and he literally couldn’t wait for my birthday to celebrate. In true Edwin fashion, pun intended, he owned the room! Swipe for some cherished memories, and see how he always spoke life and love to me, and everyone who knew him. This is the kind of friend I have lost,"

Chiloba found dead

Chiloba was found murdered and his body was stashed in a metallic box along the Kipenyo-Kaptinga road in Kapseret on Wednesday, January 4, 2023.

In an update, police indicate that Chiloba had his eyes gouged out and possibly died from strangulation.

“Apart from the eyes being gouged out, there were no physical injuries on the body, suggesting that the victim might have died out of choking,” Peter Kimulwa, Uasin Gishu County Directorate of Criminal Investigations officer, said.

24-year-old Nairobi -based freelance photographer Jackton Odhiambo confessed to killing his lover Chiloba shortly after he was arrested. He is being held at Langas police station in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County.

Odhiambo confessed to the police that he was driven to commit the murder after finding out that Chiloba had another partner.

Three more suspects were arrested on Sunday, January 8, 2023. The three who are currently in police custody were arrested for carrying the metal box used to dispose of the body of the deceased.

Police spokeswoman Resla Onyango said the suspects were under 18 years of age. She also confirmed that detectives had recovered the car used in dumping the body of the deceased.
