Singer Karen 'Kaz' Lucas is rubbing folks wrongly after her cringy comment protesting the closure of the Alchemist bar over alleged racial segregation.

According to Kaz, the bar was not on the wrong however, it fell victim to 'keyboard bullies' and netizens failed to consider the aftermath of such strong accusations which have now led to a loss of jobs.

She says while we can all be activists, netizens should always consider the implications of the power they hold.

"The number of jobs lost, hungry homes and loss @alchemist254 has had to suffer at the hands of keyboard bullies is just unspeakable! (sic) You have no idea how powerful your phones are till you're responsible for all the mouths that go hungry from your actions."

"Yes, we can all be activists but use your power wisely. Look what you've done. Shame shame on you!! #iSupportthealchemist," she wrote.

However, KOT were not with it and went ahead to troll the singer who responded by saying; "There a those that will tell you I’m a sinner and those that will tell you I’m a saint. Believe them both."

Yesterday, social media was awash after a viral video clip exposed the bar for seemingly perpetuating racism against black people by having white and Indian revellers in one queue and blacks in another as they waited in line to get into the bar.

Angry netizens ruthlessly attacked the popular city club with some including Sonko saying it should be shut down.

In a statement, yesterday, the club suspend operations to pave way for investigations into the incident that allegedly took place on the night of May 20, 2022.

The swanky joint, in a statement on Monday, May 30 said the move to close its doors follows a directive from the Nairobi County Government.

The management says the team conducting the probe into the racial discrimination claims will review the events of that night to determine if the guests in question were denied entry and if there was a policy in place to have separate lines for guests. This will include interviewing individuals in the video and reviewing the CCTV footage of the entire evening.
