Tanzanian actress Frida Kajala Masanja has admitted that she tried several times to break up her daughter Paula and Bongo singer Rayvanny.
Speaking during an interview with Mzazi Willy M Tuva in Nairobi, Kajala confessed that she strongly opposed her daughter's decision to date Rayvanny.
The Bongo movies actress noted that she couldn't do much as Paula refused to heed her advice not to date the Bongo singer.

"Ata kama hukupenda kwa sababu I tried my best kumuelezea hii haiko sahihi lakini mtu anaenda anafanya kinyume. Kwa hio inabidi tu ukae hapo. Mfano unamwambia Paula usionane na huyu mtu atakuambia sawa then anaenda behind your back anaonana na huyo mtu," Kajala said.
"Kwa hivyo wewe ulijaribu kumzuia mara kadha? (So you tried several times to stop her from dating Rayvanny?) Mzazi probed further.
"Yeah I did, a lot," Kajala admitted.
Asked if she was happy after Paula and Rayvanny ultimately broke up, Kajala said she was and went on to explain why she was against her daughter dating Rayvanny.
"Were you happy walivyoachana? (Were you happy when they broke up?"
"Ehh kwa sababu nahisi hakuna future kwa sababu Paula mdogo, Ray tayari ana mwanamke wake na amezaa naye. I don't think kama angeiacha familia yake kwa ajili ya Paula, sijui maybe. Lakini alivyorudi kwa mkewe it means kwamba he was just passing.
"(I was happy because I felt there was no future for Paula, she was young. Rayvanny already had a wife and a child. I don't think he would have left his family for Paula. When he got back together with his wife it means he was just passing)," Kajala said.
Rayvanny, Paula, Fahyma
Rayvanny enjoyed a blissful 'come-we-stay' marriage with Fahyma Abdul alias Fahyvanny/Fahyma until 2017 when it was first reported that she walked out of her matrimonial home.
Fahyma and Rayvanny had an on/off marriage until 2020 when they parted ways officially as the singer moved on with Paula.
In 2021, Fahyma complained that Rayvanny had neglected their son Jaydan in the wake of his new relationship with Paula.
She said Rayvanny should just forget about them (Fahyma and son) and concentrate on his new relationship, instead of frustrating her for no good reason.
“Kwa kukurahisishia sina mahusiano na wewe tena maana umenidanganya vya kutoshaa, endelea na hiyo familia yako mpya mimi na mtoto wangu tuwache, hatukuhusu kaa mbali na hao malaya zako,” she said.
“Usinifanye mtu mjinga kwa ajili ya manufaa yako. Mimi nimekaa kimya kwa muda mrefu lakini inatosha siwezi tena kufanywa mjinga.”
However, Rayvanny and Paula's relationship hit rock bottom in April 2022 when he reunited with Fahyma while celebrating their son Jayden’s birthday. The two were seen spending quality time with their son during his birthday party.
Even though at the time Rayvanny and Fahyma didn’t actually announce they were back together, the fact that they spent quality time together during their son’s birthday seemed to have irked Paula.
Paula deleted all photos of Rayvanny from her Instagram account days after Jaydan’s birthday sparking breakup rumours - which turned out to be true.
Rayvanny and Fayhma confirmed they were back together in April 2023.
The Bongo singer featured his baby mama as the main video vixen in his new song ‘Forever’ which premiered on YouTube on April 1, 2023.
Fahyma and Rayvanny are seen engaging in all manner of romantic moves - kissing and cuddling amorously in the new music video.
“Mtoto mbichi teketeke aki Mama umelainika. Umeumbika, acha nikumwagie sifa. Waruke sakara na mateke uzuri wako hawatofika, mama umejazisha, mikate ya kumiminisha,” Rayvanny praised Fahyma in the song.
Almost two days after releasing the song, Rayvanny suggested Fahyma and him are living together.
On his Instagram page, he posted a video of himself and Fahyma snuggling together in bed.
“Amka, amka.. Hongera, umetimiza milioni moja kwa siku moja,” Rayvanny was heard telling Fahyma on a video posted on InstaStories.
In another video he posted, the former WCB artist was seen outside doing a solo workout.
He explained that working out was one of the conditions that Fahyma had given him after their reconciliation.
“Haya ni masharti mapya ya shemeji yenu. Lazima nifanye mazoezi kila siku. Mimi nitakufa. Tuende,” he said in the video.
Fahyma also updated her profile on Instagram to refer to herself as ‘Mrs Chui’. Rayvanny calls himself ‘Chui’ (Leopard).
Rayvanny also decided to prove his love for Fahyma by getting a tattoo of her name on his arm.
“It’s so painful but I did this for you Fahyvanny. Umekua mwanamke wa tofauti kwangu I respect you,” Rayvanny wrote.
Paula, Marioo
Meanwhile, Paula has been flirting with Bongo singer Marioo after parting ways with Rayvanny.
Clouds FM presenter Mwemba Burton, popularly known as Mwijaku, recently warned Marioo that Paula would infect him with Urinary Tract Infection (UTI), claiming that she infected Rayvanny and Harmonize.
While speaking during the interview with Mzazi Tuva, Kajala was asked if Paula was dating Marioo and she said that she was clueless.
"Kwa kweli sijui chochote," she said.
Kajala noted that Paula tells her she is not dating whenever she asks her about Marioo.
"Ananiambia mi siko kwenye mahusiano lakini picha kila saa unaziona," Kajala added.
