Eli Omundu, who had been fired by Jalang'o after he stole Ksh1 million, says the Lang'ata Member of Parliament (MP) reinstated him as his groundsman after Pastor Ezekiel Odero intervened.
Speaking during an interview on 2mbili TV, Omundu said he sought divine intervention from Pastor Ezekiel after all attempts to convince Jalang'o to rehire him failed.
Omundi said he travelled to Kilifi to attend a prayer service at Pastor Ezekiel's New Life Prayer Centre and Church.

"Sasa Pastor Ezekiel nilienda mbaka kule Kilifi kule inaitwa New Life and Church Prayer Center, pale ndani nkatulie pale nkatoa sadaka yangu kidogo. Na bado huwa na natuma tu kwa hio paybill kidogo nkipata natuma," he added.
"Eli tulipokutana na yeye miezi sita alinionyesha uzi ambayo alitoka nayo kwa Pastor Ezekiel. Alikua anaenda anaomba pale kwa Pastor Ezekiel. Bado na hio uzi? (When I met Eli six months ago he showed me a thread which was given to him by Pastor Ezekiel. Do you still have it?)" 2mbili posed.
"Niko nayo, nitakosaje uzi bwana? Ata niko na kitambaa. Alinipatia kitambaa na maji (I have it, how can I fail to have it? I also have a face towel, he also gave me holy water)," Omundu said.
Jalang'o's groundsman further said that Pastor Ezekiel 'restored his star' and that all those who wanted to interfere with his destiny would be defeated.
"Amenisaidia kwa maombi Pastor Ezekiel alafu amerudisha nyota yangu. Wale walikua wameiba nyota yangu na kunipatia nyota ya tamaa sahii watapata tabu sana. Nawaambia sahi wanunue tissue kibwa sababu wata hara sana ju hawataona kitu kama hio tena. Wale wachawi nao watakufa tu kwa sababu nyota inafanya kazi yake," he said.
Eli Omundu additionally denied that he used part of the Ksh500,000 that he stole from Jalang'o to pay a tithe at Pastor Ezekiel's church (Omundi and former colleague Morrison Litiema stole Ksh1 million and divided it equally between them).
"Laki yako tano ulitoa fungu la kumi? Ile ambaya ulipita nayo ya mheshimiwa?" 2mbili asked.
"Ile sikutoa fungu la kumi mimi. Nilirudishia tu mdosi pesa yake," Eli Omundi said.
Omundu revealed that he only spent Ksh100,000 and the remaining Ksh400,000 he gave it back to Jalang'o.
"Mimi nilirudisha laki nne," he said.
Millions in the car
Eli Omundu and his former colleague Morrison Litiema on June 4, 2023, stole Ksh1 million from a BMW that they were washing at Jalang'o's compound.
Speaking to 2mbili, Omundi said the Lang'ata MP is still leaving millions in cash in the car to test him to see if he would be tempted to steal again.
"Duru za ndani zinasema ulikua umesharudishwa kazini mheshimiwa bado alikua anakupimapima?" 2mbili asked.
"Unajua ukikuja mbaka lazima mdosi akuangalie aone ni kweli uko sawa ama hauko sawa. Lakini vile nilikuja pia bidii ikakua juu sana akapimapima, akaanza kuwachawacha pale ndani milioni kadhaa akaona labda naweza shika moja ahh akaona anakuta iko pale pale," Eli Omundu said.
"So bado anawacha pesa hivi hivi?" 2Mbili posed.
"Ahh pesa iko mingi anaiwacha tu pale unajua sahi ni mheshimiwa mradi ni mingi anafanyia watu wa Lang'ata. Sasa pesa ikiwachwa hapo si mi bora nioshe gari nifunge gari na ningoje kifunguu akuje aitishe atoke," Omundu elaborated.
