Election fever has hit Akothee and now she is considering naming her unborn baby after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairperson Wafula Chebukati.

IEBC has been at the centre of attention in Kenya since August 9, 2022, when Kenyans went to the ballots to choose their next president and other leaders.

The commission's delay in announcing the winner in the presidential race has sparked anxiety with some people making jokes about Chebukati and IEBC in general.

Akothee in a post on social media listed six names of people she is considering naming her unborn baby after and Chebukati's name on top.

Akothee might be pregnant

In early July this year, Akothee revealed that she will have her sixth child through In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) due to her advanced age.

The 41-year-old singer, who was in France at the time, said she would undergo the procedure in the European nation.

“I have something for kids. I miss something and I don’t want to get pregnant at 45. Since looks like a partner won’t be possible soon. I will be going for Artificial insemination here in France 📌 So when you see me pregnant don’t ask me who the father is. 🙏 All I want is my own baby with No drama,” Akothee wrote.

Akothee decided to go the IVF way after breaking up with her ex-boyfriend Nelly Oaks.

On April 21 2022, Akothee took to social media and announced that she had broken up with Nelly Oaks. She claimed that she was dumped by her former manager.
