Police are looking for a General Service Unit (GSU) and a decorated boxer who has gone underground after defiling a 4-year-old girl on Tuesday, July 23, 2022, in Kithumu Embu West Sub-County.

Officer John Kivuti Njagi based at the GSU headquarters is said to have defiled the girl and disappeared.

Investigations were launched and it was later established that he was the prime suspect.

"It has been established that John Kivuti Njagi who defiled the victim who is currently admitted at Embu Level Five hospital in a serious condition is a police officer currently stationed at GSU Headquarters and was once a medalist in boxing," a report from police headquarters read.

Police reveal information about suspect

Police have given the suspect's home particulars and urged members of the public and officers to volunteer information leading to his arrest. He hails from Ndatu Kiandutu, Kithegi in Nembule, Embu West Sub-county.

"The suspect is currently on the run. Commandant GSU assists in tracing the whereabouts of the suspect and if found inform us for further action," the report further reads.

The incident comes just two weeks after a Nairobi-based teacher was arrested for defiling his neighbour's 14-year-old daughter.

The victim is a standard seven pupil at a different school. The girl's mother stumbled upon information that indicated that she was in constant communication with the man, through Facebook's Messenger.

Under the Sexual Offences Act, a person who commits an offence of defilement with a child aged 11 years or less is liable to imprisonment for life. However, if the victim is aged between 12 and 15 years, the suspect is liable to a jail term of not less than 20 years, upon conviction.
