Brenda: I first went to the US on December 19. I landed in Texas and when I finished my stay there, I took a flight from Cleveland, Ohio. I had a 10-hour layover in Chicago where I had interactions with some people. I think I may have contracted the virus in London or on the plane back to Nairobi. After landing in the country, I had a cough about three days later. I observed my body's response for a day and then I presented myself to Mbagathi Hospital. When I was in the US, I had seen some information that there was an isolation centre at Mbagathi. They gave me a mask when I mentioned I had been to the US. I was quarantined and treated well. The doctors, nurses and cleaners treated me very well. This is something that can be managed. As a responsible Kenyan citizen, you should contact the authorities with confidence because they will do everything for you.
Brian: For me, I got the virus from contact with Brenda. Immediately Brenda's results came back, the government reacted very fast. They came to me wherever I was and I was tested. After the results, they started treating me.
President Kenyatta: We are very thankful to you. We are glad you are now well and will continue with your lives. We can overcome. Let us not be scared to say if we are not well. Let us isolate ourselves. When we talk about social distancing, It is not a joke especially those who know they are not feeling well. Let us avoid spreading this deadly disease. For those who are feeling unwell, let us follow the example of these two fellow Kenyans. You can be treated and recover from this deadly virus.
