Patients at Busia Hospital have complained over insufficient food after they allegedly missed lunch on Monday, January 13.

Some of the patients, who spoke to K24 Digital on Tuesday, said they -- of late -- have been forced to take porridge instead of solid foods, and, on other days, left with no choice but to buy food from outside.

“And even when we get food from the hospital, it is in little quantities,” said a patient, whos spoke in confidence.

Busia County Deputy Governor, Moses Mulomi, who doubles up as the CEC for Health, said delayed disbursement of funds to the county government by the National Treasury is to blame for the insufficient food at the hospital.

“We will, however, address the concerns raised,” said Mulomi.
