The Wedding Day of one Lee Njiru and his partner, Maureen Wangithi, experienced an undesirable moment Saturday when a luxurious vehicle they had hired from Q-Pavilion Limousines Kenya was involved in a crash near Kiamutugu on the Mwea-Embu road.

The limousine was transporting Wangithi and her bridesmaids to the wedding venue -- Christians Worship International Ministry -- from Ishiara in Embu at 10am, when another vehicle rammed it on the side, forcing the limousine driver to hurtle off the road and land in a body of sand.

Reports suggest that Njiru and Wangithi hired the vehicle for Ksh200, 000.

Q-Pavilion Limousines Kenya representative, John Muthua, told K24 Digital Saturday afternoon that he could not confirm or deny that the newlyweds hired the car at that price.

At the time of the accident, Wangithi and the bridesmaids were seated in the rear seats.

It is said the limousine was hit by a vehicle driven by a 65-year-old woman, who lost control of her car -- a Jeep model -- as she was taking a turn towards her homestead.

No one was injured in the accident.

Wangithi and her friends were transferred to a “less-appealing” vehicle, which transported them to Christians Worship International Ministry in Kiamutugu, Gichugu Constituency, where Wangithi was scheduled to exchange wedding vows with Njiru.

The limousine was towed to Wang’uru Police Station.

Speaking to K24 Digital on phone, Q-Pavilion Limousines Kenya representative, John Muthua, said Njiru and Wangithi took the vehicle on Friday evening, December 20.

“On whether we will refund them the money, I am not in a position to reveal that,” said Muthua.

Q-Pavilion Limousines Kenya has its offices at Githurai 44 in Roysambu Sub-County, Nairobi.

Following the resultant confusion and police action, the wedding was delayed for nearly three hours, K24 Digital understands.
