In 1995, President Moi came to Precious Blood Kilungu. By then I was a tiny village puffball with cracked feet. I went to at least see "Mtukufu Rais eeeh Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi" whom I thought resided in my dad's small Sanyo radio.

As ignorance would have it, I stepped on the red carpet with my cow dung soiled feet...

Some tough fingers hooked on my supraclavicular fossa and I was flung away at a projectile angle of 45° for maximum range. I lost my small hand made flag either during the take-off or landing — it was such a short flight with my destination being a bougainvillea bush.

That's not the point, my point is that I ate very well during that function — imagine stripping ligaments from two bovine lumbar vertebrae? I was fed — that was all that mattered then...I lost my first deciduous tooth during the gustatory battle...

Moi...your presence was felt, your word reverberated throughout the country with presidential authority and who forgets your stance while inspecting a guard of honour...

Rest in Peace Mzee Moi...for my clavicle, it didn't break...
