Police in Itibo, Sameta, within Bobasi Sub-County arrested four youths for causing chaos during Deputy President William Ruto’s tour in Kisii County.

The youths disrupted Ruto's rally at the time when he was crisscrossing the Gusii region selling his bottom-up economic model ahead of the 2022 general elections.

Chaos erupted during the DP's rally at Suneka market where several youths were injured.

He was also booed at Ogembo in Bomachoge Chache constituency as he was addressing a gathering in the town.

Speaking to K24 Digital, Sameta police boss Benjamin Rotich revealed that the youths who were arrested were drunk and disorderly.

“The four will be arraigned in court on Thursday and be charged with being rowdy and trying to cause chaos during the DP’s Kisii visit,” he said.

The officer claimed that the youths were heckling at the DP while he was addressing the crowd.

This is not the first time chaos are witnessed in Ruto's rallies in Kisii. During previous visit which took place on October 2, 2021, youths who were dressed in ODM party t-shirts clashed with his supporters.

The DP condemned the fracas, which he claimed were sponsored by political opponents who did not want him to engage with his fellow hustlers.

He also asked the youth to shun leaders who incite them to cause chaos in political rallies.
