Residents of Taaria Apartments in Rongai, Kajiado county were left shocked after a 28-year-old woman stabbed her two children to death and injured her husband following domestic wrangles.
Kajiado North police commander Hussein Gura while confirming the incident noted that the suspect, a housewife, stabbed her 6-year-old daughter and 2-year-old son using a kitchen knife on the morning of Thursday, June 8, 2023.
The suspect later attacked her 30-year-old husband, a businessman and stabbed him several times before stabbing herself.
"Preliminary investigations indicate that the couple were involved in a domestic dispute that led to the bizarre murders," he said.
The apartment's caretaker noted that he heard the suspect's husband calling for help in the wee hours of the morning.
Neighbours who heard the commotion stormed the house and rushed the couple to a Sinai Health Centre where they were treated before being transferred to the Kenyatta National Hospital where they are in critical condition.
"As usual, we heard a commotion from the house, but we did not know it would end tragically. The two minors were lying in a pool of blood when we managed to open the door," a neighbour stated.
Meanwhile, the bodies of the deceased were moved to a nearby morgue.
