Police in Nairobi are burning the midnight oil to unravel the mystery surrounding the death of a 22-year-old woman whose body was found in her bathroom in Kilimani.

Police say the woman, Kaisy Koech had accompanied friends to a house party on the morning of Sunday, April 2, 2023.

Witnesses told police that she had excused herself to take a shower shortly after they heard a thud coming from the bathroom.

When they called the deceased, she was unresponsive, prompting them to break into the bathroom.

They found the 22-year-old lying down with the shower pipe in her right hand. She had bruises on her chest and first finger.

She was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Police noted that the deceased may have been electrocuted by the shower. They have vowed to investigate the incident.

Her body was moved to the hospital's morgue pending a postmortem.

Elsewhere in Githurai 45, Kiambu county, one person was left dead and several others injured after a stampede during the issuance of bursary forms.

“The crowd was big when people started pushing each other when the deceased who was number 783 fell. Unfortunately, after falling he was run over and died while three other women were also injured and rushed to a nearby hospital,” a witness explained.

The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital before he was transferred to Kenyatta University Teaching, Research and Referral Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
