A mother and her daughter broke down at a public school in Murang'a county and wept uncontrollably after the daughter's name was swapped from a national school to a little-known school in Nyanza.
According to the mother, Rachel Amogola, her daughter, Hildah Anatwa was selected to join Mugoiri girls but were rudely shocked to find her name missing from the list of those joining the school and was informed that her daughter was supposed to join Wambasa Secondary in Siaya county.
"We came here very early in the morning by 8 and after queuing for hours only to be informed that the daughter cannot be admitted in the school since her name was transferred to another school"

The mother told K24 digital that she had made a prior visit to the school and was ready to bring her daughter.
The mother told the joy she got when she received the admission letter to join the school as it was a chance for her to learn to leave with people.
The two were overwhelmed by emotions when it became clear that the daughter's dream to join the school were dreaming.
According to Hildah, her dream was to join the national school after scoring 381 marks at Kahawa Garrison primary school in Kasarani sub-county in 2020 KCPE.
The mother appealed to the government to help her in securing the chance as they had bought all the requirements to join the school.
"I appeal to the government through the ministry of health to intervene and award my daughter the chance to build her future in the school," the mother said.
Despite the entire family accompanying their eldest sister as she joined to form one left the school 10 hours later dejected and devastated after she failed to secure the place and went home with them.
Attempts to speak to the principal Susan Muthoni proved futile but promised to get to the bottom of the matter and get the girl helped.
The county director of education Ann Kiilu vowed to ensure the issue is sorted out amicably saying she was in contact with the ministry of education over the standoff.
