Wednesday blackout to affect 9 counties – Kenya Power

Kenya Power has issued a notice informing Kenyans of a scheduled power blackout on Wednesday, January 17, 2023.

In a statement, the utility firm said the power outage will affect nine counties across the country.

The nine affected counties include; Kiambu, Machakos, Nyeri, Embu, Kajiado, Nakuru, Bomet, Busia and Nyamira.

Kenya Power however did not give the timelines for when the affected counties will be without electricity.

In Kiambu, the areas that will be affected by the planned power outage include; Thika Gateway Mall, TIBS, Njomoko, Leghorn Feeds, Clavers, Chnaia Village, Metro, Vincentian Retreat Centre, Windsor Flower and adjacent customers.

In Machakos, the areas affected include; Greatwall 1&2, Upper & Lower Sabaki, London Distillers, Tuffoam, Trail Link, Sabaki Kijiji, Kenchic, Tamarind Est, Mt. Olive and adjacent customers.

In Nyeri, the areas affected include; Chaka Brookside, Roben Abedare, Kirinyaga Construction, Ceprene Indisutries, Milimani Crusher and adjacent customers.

In Embu, the areas affected include; Kianjiru Transmission Hubn, Munyori, Kirima, Kaweru, Kiametho, Mathigameru, Kamunyange, Gen Njeru and adjacent customers.

In Kajiado, the areas affected include; Isinya Town, Ramoda, Globsil, KEDA Ceramic, KMQ, Mile 46 and adjacent customers.

In Nakuru, the areas affected include; Baharini Boreholes, Kwa Murogi, Free Area, Naka, Sec 58, Kabachia Lions, Ebony, Kisulisuli, Kingdom Seekers, Bargain Nursing Home, Baraka Nursing Home, Bedi, Mau View, Mama Ngina Pri Sch, Christ the King, Central Bank and adjacent customers.

In Bomet, the areas affected include; Bomet Water, Kyogong, Sachora, Olbutyo, Kapoleseroi, Chelelech, Chebwostuiyet, Kimaiya, Bingwa, Kataret, Chebunyo, Labotiet, Tenwek Hospital, Kaboson, Emarti, Chepalungu TTI, Fairmount Hotel, Ntulele, Lalela, Kabolecho, Kipruturgut, Kapkulumben, Tilangok, Mogor, Lelbarak, Kiproroget, Sigor, Tumoi, Kipkeigei. Lelaitich, Kabolwo, Chepkosa and adjacent customers.

In Busia, the areas affected include; Maseno Village, Korinda Prisons Staff Qtrs, Kisumu Ndogo, Bugengi Catholic Church, Montessori Sch. Corner Point, Budokomi Church, Bakalama, Ochude, Omiriae Village, Okiludi, St. Peters' Ojamong', Okatikoko, Otimong', Pasma Village, Asyriam Mkt Center, Keng'atuny, Crown City, Olepito S/Factory, Okame TTC, Okatekok, Obekai, Ong'aroi, Osasamet, Aterait, Irukan, Alakara, Apegei Mkt, Kajoro, Kaliwa, Nasra, St Mary's DEB, Kololo farm, PALWECO, Nambale Center, Mabunge, Manyole, Lwanyage, Lugulu Malanga, Maira Kwa Dip, St. Marys' Education Center, Sua River W/P, Lerekwe, Musoma, Siebuka, Frankmart S/m, Ikondohera, Kisoko Weigh Bridge, Kisoko Mkt, Emuramia, Emakina, Namahindi Center and adjacent customers.
