Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairman Wafula Chebukati has refuted claims that he will announce Presidential results on Wednesday, August 10, 2022.

Speaking to journalists on Wednesday, Chebukati said that the commission will not start tallying until they receive all the forms 34A and 34B from the polling stations and constituency tallying centres respectively.

"We are not going through the tallying process until we start receiving the original images of Form 34A and 34B from our returning officers at the national tallying centre," Chebukati said.

"The law requires IEBC to declare the president-elect within seven days, the commission shall endeavour to conclude this exercise at the earliest time possible," he added.

As of Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at 3:00 pm, 45,266 of 46,229 form 34A's had been uploaded on IEBC's portal while six out of 291 forms 34B had been uploaded.
