Roots Party of Kenya presidential running mate Justina Wamae has agreed to honour a summon to appear before the party disciplinary committee.
Wamae, who had earlier said she would not attend any disciplinary meeting, now says she will honour the summon because she believes in institutions.
George Wajackoyah's running mate shared a video that captured her party boss saying the Roots Party did not have a disciplinary committee and that he was only using his brain to run the party.
"@glwajackoyah because I respect institutions even informal in a brain, I will honour the summon," she captioned the video she shared on Twitter.
Wamae summoned
In the summon letter sent to Wamae, she is accused of failing to adhere to the party constitution and manifesto.
"Take note that we have instructions from the party leader to demand which we hereby do that you cease and desist from speaking, uttering, or purporting to speak on behalf of the Roots Party of Kenya," the summon letter read in part.
The committee also threatened to take legal action against her.
"Take further notice that failure to stop the misrepresentation and irresponsible utterances, we have instruction to institute legal action against you without further notice, to you, to your peril as to cost and consequences (sic)," the letter read in part.
