I will release inmates jailed for bhang possession and compensate each with Ksh1M – Wajackoyah

Roots Party presidential candidate George Wajackoyah is far from done with his promises should he clinch the State House seat come August 9.

Speaking in Mombasa, Wajackoyah who has promised to legalize cannabis pledged to release all inmates jailed on bhang-related charges.

He said that upon their release, each inmate will be awarded Ksh1 million by the State.

“When I’m sworn in, all those who have been arrested and jailed over bhang possession will be released. I will release all of them and go with them to State House,” he said.

“Everyone who would be freed on that day will be given Ksh1 million and asked for forgiveness for being arrested under punitive foreign laws imposed in our Parliament.”

Wajackoyah pledge to protect bhang users from being arrested

Wajackoyah further said that his administration will protect police officers and ensure they are not sidelined. This he said while adding that he shall ensure goodwill from police in ensuring no Kenyan is arrested over bhang trafficking.

“Kwa muda mrefu imekuwa ni kitu kidogo askari…ile siku ya mwisho kupewa mshahara ilikuwa ni siku ya Kibaki. Lazima tuwe na uhusiano mzuri na askari maanake hakuna askari atashika mtu aliye na bangi wakati ambao nitakuwa nimeapishwa,” Wajackoyah said.
