Police have launched investigations into a robbery incident at Public Service Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa's Loresho home.

According to a police report seen by K24 Digital, the incident that occurred on Monday, February 13 at around 1:45 am was reported to the police by one of the officers attached to Jumwa's security detail.

The robbery occurred while the CS was away on official duty and at the time her two daughters were in the house asleep.

Police said a gang of three men armed with crude weapons entered the compound by cutting the electric perimeter wall and gained access to the main house through the back door which was not locked.

Preliminary investigations show that the thugs, who knew their way around the house, took off with Ksh1 million, jewellery, and electronics.

"The suspects ransacked the house where her two daughters were sleeping and made away with Ksh 1 million, gold jewels, two laptops, and three mobile phones.

"During the incident, one Ruth Kadzo CS daughter was slightly injured on the right knee," part of the police report reads.

Thugs break into Mudavadi's home

This comes barely weeks after two burglars broke into the Nairobi residence of Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and stole a 40-inch television set and a gas cylinder.

According to a police report, the duo invaded the property after they jumped over the perimeter wall on Sunday, January 29, 2023.

At the time, the CS and his wife were not at home.

They covered one of the CCTV cameras with a plastic object to conceal their identity and accessed the rooms where they stole the property mentioned above before escaping.

"After reviewing of CCTV footage, it was established that two male strangers gained entry into the compound by jumping over the perimeter wall between 1630 hrs and 1700hrs where one of them covered one of the CCTV cameras with a plastic object in order to hide their identity,” the statement reads.

“They then accessed some rooms at the compound and stole the property before escaping,” the report added.

His son Moses was in a separate room when the incident occurred. He was alerted by the house help who informed him that one of the tv sets and the gas cylinders were missing.

At this point, he called the police who responded swiftly. The officers who arrived at the scene established that the burglars quickly made their way because the electric fence at the compound was not functioning at the time of the incident.

They also revealed that the rooms had not been attended to for a while.
