A blanket of grief enveloped close friends and family members of doctor James Gekara, 54, as they witnessed the burial of their kin on Tuesday, September 28 in Gilgil, Nakuru county.
Gakara, who killed his two children aged 5 and 3 by allegedly injecting them with insulin died at Nakuru Level 5 hospital on Wednesday last week.
After injecting his children with insulin, the doctor who was suffering from diabetes turned the needle on himself but the effect of the insulin was slow on him.

During the burial ceremony attended by family and friends, Gekara's wife could not hold her tears as she bid her husband and children farewell.
“We really don’t know why he did what he did. He loved his children and wife. In fact, he had enrolled his wife Winnie at JKUAT university to further her studies,” Button Njoroge, one of the deceased friends, said.
The late doctor was eulogised by his neighbours and friends as a jovial person.
"My husband was so resilient, nothing would shake him. He was so composed. I have never met such a beautiful soul," Gakara's wife said.
According to a police report seen by K24 Digital, officers stationed at Nakuru police station received a tip-off from the public that there was a commotion in a nearby house along the Kilimani area.
"We immediately dashed to the scene and found the lifeless bodies of the two children in the house. Their father was still breathing," Nakuru County Police Commander Beatrice Kiraguri said.
