The now famous 'Moiben Lion' was spotted on Monday evening strolling in a Kruger farm in Sergoit, Moiben, Uasin Gishu County.

Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) had recently deployed a helicopter to locate the lion

But a KWS official based at Iten, John Mwakima, told K24 Digital that they have captured the stray lion.

Mr Mwakima said they laid a trap at the Kruger where they snared the lion.

The KWS official said the lion will be transported to Laikipia.

The lion had strayed for at least a month and had killed domesticated animals and previous attempts to catch the cat had been futile.
