At least 14 more bodies were Saturday, April 22, 2023, exhumed as operations inside controversial pastor Paul Mackenzie’s Shakahola land in Kilifi County continue.

Of the 14, five bodies that were buried in one grave, are believed to belong to one family.

They include a man, a woman, and three children.

These were among the congregants who allegedly succumbed to starvation after being lured to fast for a religious motive.

The total number of bodies exhumed has now hit 17.

58 graves discovered

On Friday, April 21, 2023, three bodies were exhumed from two shallow graves.

Two bodies had been buried in one grave while the other was buried on its own.

The homicide detectives also discovered 26 more gravesites bringing to 58 the total number of graves found so far.

The operation is led by Head of the Homicide Department at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Martin Nyaguto.

The controversial pastor of Good News International Church remains in police custody.
