Residents of Thika town in Kiambu County woke up to a terror scare at Thika Law Courts.

According to Stephen Mbugua, the Secretary Law Society of Kenya, Thika chapter, the National Intelligence Service received an alert of an intended terror attack in Thika Law Courts.

Following the incident, all court activities had stalled.

A heavy presence of armed police officers were seen manning various areas within the Deputy County Commissioner's compound where the law court is located.

"The terror attack explains the heavy presence of police from various departments in the station today," Mbugua, in a notice said.

"We wish to inform you that the security forces are handling the matter and all court sessions shall soon begin," he added.
