President Willia Ruto has flown to India for a two-day state visit, State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohammed has announced.

The trip to India comes hours after Ruto returned to Kenya from Dubai where he attended the UN Climate Conference (COP28).

"President William Ruto embarks on a two-day State visit to India today following successful advocacy for Kenya and Africa's climate agenda at the UN Climate Conference (COP 28) in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates," Hussein stated.

In India, he is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi on health, agriculture, education and ICT among others.

"Bilateral discussions with India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi will span crucial areas such as agriculture, trade, and investment promotion, forging healthcare partnerships, particularly in pharmaceutical production and capacity building, and collaboration in education, ICT, maritime affairs, and renewable energy," Mohamed added.

The talks will lead to the signing of several memoranda of understanding that will strengthen the partnership between the two nations.
