A robbery suspect was on Tuesday, July 12 killed by undercover police in Kilimani as two of his accomplices managed to escape.

According to a police report seen by K24 Digital, the gang of three had been attacking pedestrians in the area and had robbed two people of their phones and other personal effects.

Three undercover officers set on a bicycle riding expedition into the area in search of the gang.

One of the officers was left on foot in the area as the rest went on a fact-finding mission and when his colleagues were a few metres away, the gang emerged from the thicket attacking him.

The officer called his colleagues who were a few meters away and found him being attacked and mugged to the ground.

"Three undercover officers set on bicycle riding expedition on concern that three robbers were attacking members of the public with crude weapons and robbing them along the cemetery.

"Jackson Mwanzi who was at the time behind the team was attacked by the thugs," read part of the police report.
