A post-mortem conducted on June Jerop, the Kenyatta University (KU) student whose body was discovered hours after going on a date has revealed that she had a deep cut in the chest probably inflicted by a sharp object.
The autopsy conducted at the Montezuma Monalisa Funeral home in Nairobi also disclosed that the 36-year-old died from excessive bleeding due to a stabbing.
“As a result of my examination, I formed the opinion that the cause of death was excessive bleeding due to stabbing. The body had a deep stab wound in the chest, through to the heart,” the pathologist stated.

The deceased who was a master's student and an accountant at the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) had notified her friends that she was heading out on a coffee date with Wafula before her untimely death.
Detectives noted that Wafula who was apprehended and taken to police custody had picked up the deceased driving his Mercedes Benz on March 19, 2023.
It was discovered that the two had stopped by a chemist to purchase medicine before they left.
Later that day, Wafula's car was found abandoned as he left for his rural home in Bungoma County using public transport.
Detectives discovered that the car had traces of blood that matched the deceased's DNA.
“The Mercedez Benz had traces of blood all over. The blood samples were taken to the government chemist for a DNA test to establish if it matches with that of the deceased,” Makadara acting DCI boss Jared Seko, stated.
As of now, three people have been arrested as detectives try to unravel the motive behind her death.
Her family led by her sister Joyce Jepkemoi has called for speedy investigations in order to establish the motive and bring June's killers to book.
"As a family we want justice. This is a young soul lost. We want thorough investigations done. It will bring justice for June and stop other perpetrators from committing such acts," Jepkemoi stated.
She added: "We want to know why she was killed and what the motive was …. what she did to deserve such cruelty,"
