Police recover 13 stolen goats, return them to owner

A collaborative effort between security teams has led to the successful recovery of 13 stolen goats near the border of Isiolo and Samburu Counties, close to the Meibae Conservancy.

The goats had been reported stolen on July 23, 2023, via the Kimanjo Police Station in Laikipia County.

In a police statement as seen by K24 Digital, an operation team comprising officers from the Samburu East Sub-County Police, Kenya Police, and National Police Reservists (NPR) from Wamba/Lodung'okwe, worked together to track down the stolen livestock and apprehend the culprits.

Through careful planning and intelligence gathering, the joint operation team was able to trace the whereabouts of the stolen goats to the border area.

"On 28/07/2023, an operation team led by Samburu East SCPC, Kenya Police Officers from Wamba Police Station and NPR from Wamba/Lodung'okwe successfully tracked and recovered 13 stolen goats at the border of Isiolo-Samburu Counties near the Meibae Conservancy," the police statement read.

The diligent efforts of the joint operation team on July 28, 2023, resulted in the successful recovery of the stolen livestock, and the goats were handed back to their owner in the presence of the Assistant Chief.

"The livestock which was initially reported stolen via Kimanjo Police Station within Laikipia County on 23/07/2023 has since been handed back to the owner in the presence of the Assistant Chief," the statement confirmed.
