New DCI boss among top 10 Google searches in October

Google has released a list of the most searched things by Kenyans on the platform last month in October.

Some of the items featured in the list are; Travis Maina. This is the 2-year-old boy who had a fork jembe lodged in his head after an accident in their home.

The minor succumbed during surgery after over a 20-hour delay by Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) to conduct an operation to remove the jembe.

Prior to the surgery, the hospital was put on blast for alleged negligence after photos of the minor went viral on social media.

Other items include President William Ruto's new Aide-de-Camp Colonel Fabian Lengusuranga and the appointment of the new Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) boss Amin Mohamed.

The October Google Search data further indicate that Kenyans searched about Huduma Day formerly known as Moi Day.

Most Kenyans also kept tabs on international news specifically on new movies and TV programmes.

These included American far-right conspiracy theory and fake news website, InfoWars founder Alex Jones; Black Adam, Black Adam, a 2022 American superhero film based on the DC Comics character released last month by Warner Bros attracted a notable amount of searches.a 2022 American superhero film based on the DC Comics character released last month; as well as Marvel’s Wakanda Forever.
