The government is finalizing plans to convert a National Youth Service technical training college in Miritini into a state-of-the-art drug–addiction rehabilitation centre.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i said the NYS college “will be relocated” in December 2019, for the drug-addiction treatment center to start offering services.

“We are here to lay the final plans for putting up a rehabilitation centre in this place… Plans have been ongoing. We have taken time to clean up this place. There were mobile clinic containers here we have removed them. By December people who have been affected by drugs consumption will be visiting this place for inpatient services beginning December,” said Dr Matiang’i, who toured the site on Thursday.
