Nyali Police Commander speaks

Nyali Police Commander Daniel Masaba confirmed the incident saying the legislator was whisked away to safety.

He, however, declined to shed more details on the matter saying Mohammed was yet to record his statement with the police.

According to sources, Mohammed was taken ill moments after he was rescued from the rowdy youths.

"He is unable to record a statement with the police since he is still unwell. Once he is able to record his statement, we will establish what transpired," a senior officer who rescued the legislator said.
