Vincent Mboya, who went viral for asking comedian Felix Odiwuor alias Jalang'o to go for his Ksh18,000 rent donation he gave him a fortnight ago, has now revealed why he could not refund the cash through a mobile transaction.

Speaking to online television, the 22-year-old revealed that he couldn't do so because he was uncertain whether Jalang'o had a pending Fuliza loan that could see the money deducted from his mobile money account.

When asked why he couldn't send the money directly to his phone number, Mboya replied; "ningejuaje ako na Fuliza?"

"Unajua unaeza tumia mtu pesa upate imekatwa na Fuliza. Kwanza yeye mwenyewe hakunitumia kwa Mpesa straight, he sent to the bank (You know you can send money to someone and it is directly to his Mpesa account and his deducted by Fuliza. In fact, he did not send the money to my Mpesa)," he added.

Mboya adds that he will consider the Mpesa option after having talks with his team now that Jalang'o has asked him to do so.

He revealed that his intention to refund the money is in good faith and aimed at reciprocating the kind gesture that was accorded to him by comedian Jalang'o.

"Vile ameniambia nimtumie kwa Mpesa it is fine. Timu yangu tutakaa tuangalie hiyo maneno (Now that he has said I send the money to his Mpesa that is fine. I am going to talk to my team and see how we can have the matter solved). My attention was because he bought me lunch the day he helped me, I want also to reciprocate after handing over the cash to him," Mboya said.

He dismissed claims that he is chasing clout adding that he just heeded what Jalang'o told him.

"He told me to go and work hard. How would he know that I have worked hard?" He posed.

On the source of his money barely a month after begging for help, Mboya revealed that he got an endorsement deal that enabled him to get back on his financial feet.
