A nine-year-old girl is nursing serious injuries at Kangundo Hospital after her stepmother beat her up and burned her private parts with a hot iron box.
According to Nguluni Chief, Donbosco Ndambuki, the girl's stepmother arrived home at their Ngii village home on Saturday where she found the girl playing with her friends.

Ndambuki, in his report, said the woman dragged the girl to their house, beat her up and then burned her private parts with an iron box.
The woman has since been arrested and taken to Kangundo Police Station awaiting arraignment on Monday.
The chief said the girl lives with her stepmother while her father, a boda boda operator, plies his trade in Nairobi.
According to the chief, the girl's father remarried recently after his first wife died.
