Former Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) radio presenter Bonnie Musambi has denied reports that he is joining Radio 47.

Musambi was linked to the radio station after his photo was shared on the station's social media with a caption insinuating that he could join the station.

However, the radio presenter said the station shared his photo without his knowledge, denying links to the media house.

"I have received lots of disturbing messages, many people enquiring if it is true, that I have joined Radio 47 community. This is said to have been prompted by the aforementioned radio station posting my photo, captioned "Bonnie Musambi, #HapaNdipo" early this week," Musambi said.

Musambi, who resigned from his job in KBC on February 8, 2022, to join politics says he has no intention to go back to radio.

"While I appreciate the love by my radio fans whom I served for 15 years, I hereby wish to state as follows: I closed the chapter of radio presentation on 8th February 2022 and opened a new chapter with no intention of turning back," he stated.

Musambi says he is currently an employee of the Public Service Commission, serving at State House, as Director of Coordination in the Office of State House Spokesperson.

"I am currently an employee of the Public Service Commission, serving at State House, as Director of Coordination, and I am absolutely contented with that job. Public servants don't hold two jobs concurrently. The decision by the said radio station to post my photo was not in my knowledge and has nothing to do with me joining them," he added.

"I urge all my friends and fans to ignore unnecessary rumours and simply support the government of H.E Dr William Samoei Ruto, whom I serve under."

The journalist unsuccessfully contested for the Kitui Central parliamentary seat in the last general election.

Musambi contested for the MP seat on President William Ruto's UDA party ticket and played a central role in Ruto's campaigns in the Ukambani region. He lost to Makali Mulu of the Wiper party.

He was appointed to the government job in March 2023, in what looked as a reward for his support for Ruto during the 2022 General Elections.

"Wow! Just wow! My immeasurable gratitude to God and you Mr. President, for my appointment as Director Coordination, Office of State House Spokesperson. I promise my full dedication and loyalty to you and all Kenyans," Musambi said in a statement shared on Facebook in March 2023.
