Police in Migori have arrested one suspect after discovering bhang with an estimated street value of 15 million from a home compound in Buembu village.

According to a report by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations(DCI), 531 kg of outlawed cannabis sativa was discovered in the home compound by detectives following a joint operation with K9 Isebania Border Post officers.

Acting on a tipoff, the sleuths conducted a raid at the compound where they found the outlawed substances stashed in sacks.

"In the stealth operation, 9 sacks of Cannabis sativa sticks and another 8 containing the unrefined drug were found at various concealed spots with the help of a sniffer dog," DCI said.

During the raid, a 26-year-old woman identified as Molinter Adhiambo Juma was nabbed with the second suspect managing to escape.

The crime scene is said to belong to Osege Odhiambo who is still at large.

"Search for Osege and the escapee continues," DCI noted.
