Meru: Senior police officer found dead at girlfriend’s house

Police officers in Mikinduri, Meru County have launched investigations after a senior police officer was found dead in his Girlfriend’s house on Saturday, June 25.

Senior Sergeant Moses Gakula is reported to have been drinking with the woman who works in a salon at Kiolo market on Friday night before he was found lying dead on her bed.

Gakula was in his full police uniform with some drugs in his pocket.

Investigations indicate that the officer’s girlfriend KN received a call from a strange woman who was reportedly with the officer at a club and that the woman informed KN to go for him saying he needed medical attention.

NK then reportedly gave out the direction to where she lives but the officer was already dead by the time he was taken to NK's house.

"He was well and was drinking with people when he started sweating profusely before he was taken to the friend’s house. He was found dead the following morning,” the police report read in parts.

Confirming the incident to K24 Digital, Tigania Central OCPD Chepkwony said that Gakula had been battling with High blood pressure and had been given a transfer to Ankamia police post which was near his home.

“Gakula had blood pressure and had been given transfer to Ankamia Police Post. This was near his home,” Chepkwony said.

The body has been transferred to Meru Level Five Hospital Morgue awaiting postmortem.
