Detectives in Kitengela are investigating an incident where a 24-year-old man murdered his girlfriend before committing suicide in a rental house within Kyangombe area in a suspected love triangle.

The house caretaker reported to the police that he had noted her female tenant had not come out of her house for two days raising suspicion.

After breaking into her one-bedroomed house which had been locked from inside, lifeless bodies of her and a known boyfriend were found at the birth room.

Her body had been stabbed severally times while her boyfriend had been stabbed in the chest.

Confirming the incident, Isinya Sub-County Police Commander Ancient Kaloki said detectives are investigating the incident.

"Unfortunately, two young persons have lost their lives. We are investigating the incident to establish the motive of the killing," Kaloki said.

Man described as friendly

Kaloki further appealed to lovers to seek mutual conflict resolution saying there is no justification for killing a person.

A neighbor, who sort anonymity, claims to have on Tuesday heard someone screaming before he or she went silent.

While describing the deceased as friendly, neighbors who know the male suspect as her boyfriend suspect a love triangle.

The body was moved to Shallom Community Hospital.
