A man has been accused of assaulting and insulting a waitress who went to ask him to pay his bills.

Kenneth Murithi Njagi assaulted Pascalia Joakim at a bar within Langata Sub-County on June 4.

He was on the second count charged with offensive conduct in which he allegedly insulted Pascalia by calling her a prostitute on the same day and place.

It is stated that Njagi had on that day checked into the bar and requested drinks but he turned violent and assaulted Pascalia; a waitress who served him and who asked him to pay for his bills.

Njagi who was not happy when he was asked to clear his bills, went ahead to insult Pacalia calling her a prostitute and a thief.

Pascalia then reported the matter to the management and among those who volunteered as witnesses was a butcher who also attests to the claims of assault in which he claimed that Njagi beat him up after he requested him to pay for the meat he took from the butchery.

Investigations were launched over the claims and he was apprehended and arraigned. He denied the charges and was released on a cash bail of ksh50,000. The matter shall be mentioned on June 17.
