Legendary Calif Records producer Clemo in mourning as father dies

The legendary Calif Records producer Clemo is mourning the death of his father William Rapudo.

According to a funeral announcement sent to close friends and relatives, and seen by K24, Clemo's father will be buried on Saturday, May 22.

" It is with great pain and sorrow that we announce the demise of MR. WILLIAM RAPUDO, father to CLEMENT RAPUDO (CLEMO), the Director of NGOMMA VAS and CALIF RECORDS. Plans for his sendoff are underway. Burial is on 22/05/2021 Saturday. Thank You and be blessed," the announcement read.

Calif Records is a Nairobi-based music production house founded in 2000 and is commonly known for the Genge music.

The label was founded by Clement 'Clemo' Rapudo, together with Genge artists Juacali and Nonini.

Clemo is also the founder of Ngomma VAS, a company that markets local music in Kenya and abroad and also accords royalties to Kenyan artists through Youtube views.
