Embakasi: Lady found dead inside church compound

Police in Kware area of Embakasi have launched investigations into the death of a lady who was found dead inside the compound of AIPCA ST. Peters church on Thursday, September 1, 2022.

According to a police report seen by K24 Digital, the deceased's body, identified as Agnes Mwende, was found dumped near a water tank within the church compound.

A church worker who discovered the body informed the caretaker who reported the matter to the police.

Police who visited the scene said they found the body of the 26-year-old lying naked with a rope tied to her neck.

She also had visible injuries on her private parts and her left leg was broken.

"Police visited the scene and found the body lying naked with a rope tied to the neck. She had visible injuries on her private parts and her left leg had been broken," the police report reads.

The body was moved to the city mortuary pending a postmortem.

In a separate incident, a family in Embakasi is in mourning after their kin killed himself following a disagreement with his parents.

In the incident, the deceased identified as Omari Momanyi is said to have taken his life by ingesting a pesticide moments after he disagreed with his parents over a school transfer.

"Momanyi, a standard seven Pupil at Siloam Academy within pipeline committed suicide after he failed to agree with his parents as he wanted to be transferred to another school," the police report seen by K24 Digital read in part.

Police say the deceased had left for school on the said day but returned with a bottle of pesticide in his hands moments later.

He was found lying unconscious and was rushed to a nearby health facility where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The body was moved to City mortuary awaiting an autopsy.
