Wiper party leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka has announced he is re-joining Azimio la Umoja- One Kenya coalition bringing to an end months of speculations over his political stand.

Speaking at the SKM Command Centre in Karen, the former Vice President announced that he was shelving his presidential ambitions to support Azimio la Umoja- One Kenya presidential flagbearer Raila Odinga.

"I have since concluded and came to the realization that the future of Kenya is indeed squarely on our shoulders. Thus, I have, with deep humility and appreciation, accepted the nomination to be the Chief Minister in the Azimio government," he stated.

While expressing optimism, Kalonzo who lauded Azimio's deputy choice, Martha Karua, assured Kenyans that he will submit himself to the coalition ahead of the August polls.

"Beginning today, I will submit myself to the Azimio One Kenya Alliance coalition. The question is not if we form the government but when we form the next government," he alluded.

Kalonzo further announced that he was accepting the prime cabinet secretary's position offered by Mr. Odinga.

"With humility, I hereby accept the nomination for the position of the chief minister when Azimio forms government. I would wish to congratulate Karua on her nomination as Azimio DP nominee," he stated.

Kalonzo's decision to work with Odinga comes about two weeks after his party severed ties with the Odinga-led coalition to contest for the presidency.

His decision at the time was fueled by Odinga's choice of Martha Karua as his preferred running mate ahead of the August 9 election.
