Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Tuesday graced the 62nd Kenya National Drama Festival Gala held at the Embu University, Embu County.

The DP who attended the event as the Chief Guest was flanked by Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) Ezekiel Machogu and the county head Cecily Mbarire.

Gachagua in Embu

Gachagua attended the event shortly after witnessing the signing of the contract between the National Housing Corporation and the Embu Jua Kali Association for the fabrication and supply of steel doors and windows for affordable houses at Majimbo area in Embu Town.

During his visit, Gachagua lauded the State's Affordable
Housing project saying it was making a huge positive impact on the ground with thousands of jobs and business opportunities.

"As intended by the Ruto Administration, this multi-billion project is greatly beneficial to the Jua Kali artisans and skilled youths in the informal sector.

"This morning, I was delighted to witness the signing of a contract between the National Housing Corporation and Embu Jua Kali Association for the fabrication and supply of steel doors and windows for the affordable houses at Majimbo area in Embu town," the DP said.

The country's second-in-command was accompanied by the area governor Cecily Mbarire, Senator Alexander Mundigi, Manyatta Member of Parliament John Gitonga, and Deputy Governor Kinyua Mugo.

Other leaders who attended include; Mbeere South MP Nebart Muriuki, Runyenjes MP Eric Karemba, South Mugirango MP Osoro Sylvanus, Dagoretti South MP Kiarie John, Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa, Lang'ata MP
Jalango, Mumias East MP Peter Salasya, United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Secretary General Cleophas malala, NHC Chairman Yusuf Chanzu, Area Member of County Assembly (MCA) Ibrahim Swaleh (Kirimari Ward), among others.
