Police officers shot dead four suspects following a botched robbery incident on Juja Road on Sunday morning.

The four armed men allegedly had tried to rob a man when he was about to enter his home at around 4 am but he raised the alarm, and police officers on patrol responded.

The victim said the suspects ordered him to surrender his valuables and the car before hitting him on the head.

The officers shot all of them dead and recovered two homemade pistols, two rounds of ammunition and four knives.

Nairobi County Police Commander Philip Ndolo said some of the suspects escaped on foot.

The bodies were taken to City mortuary awaiting identification and postmortem.
