Form 4 student rushed to MTRH after she was assaulted by teacher

A female Form Four student of the DEB Mutwot Secondary School is receiving treatment at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret after she was assaulted by her teacher.

The girl, 17, was allegedly brutally caned by her teacher for wearing non-official attire in school.

The teenager’s parents have since informed Uasin Gishu County Director of Education Gitonga Mbaka of the incident. Mbaka has vowed to investigate and recommend appropriate action against the said-teacher.

The learner, who sustained injuries to her head, back, buttocks and legs, was rushed to the MTRH, where she is receiving treatment.

The minor’s parents have filed a report at the Kapsoya Police Station.
