Family seeks justice for kin attacked by relatives in Eastleigh over business rivalry

A family in the Eastleigh area of Nairobi is seeking justice after their kin was brutally attacked and injured by her neighbors at a business joint.

The victim identified as Najma Mohamed Ali, who has been admitted in a hospital in the city, was attacked on October 16, 2022 attack at the Sharjah Mall by eight of her relatives.

The police said she sustained multiple injuries in the head and is currently undergoing treatment.
The incident which is now threatening to escalate to clan fighting comes few days after the stabbing of a relative of one of the suspected assailants.

According to reports, the victim was stabbed in the stomach by the gang which was avenging the attack on Najma since the police have failed to take necessary action. However, the police confirmed to K24 Digital that they had so far taken action and arrested the suspect.

While confirming the incident, Starehe head of DCI Nzau Musengi said investigations are on and more suspects are being hunted for.

“Some of the suspects are being hunted for and we will take the necessary action at the right time when investigations are over,” Musengi said.

Preliminary investigations reveal that the attackers had earlier on been mocking Najma on social media over her business before they attacked her.

In a video that has gone viral, one of the suspects is seen sitting on top of the victim while slapping her before she hit her with a blunt object several times.

The other accomplices who were with her are captured standing at the shop and pinning her down when she tried to rise.

They then left the shop and left her bleeding before she was rescued and taken to the hospital.
