Police officers in Kisumu have arrested eight people and recovered 410 litres of Kangara and Chang'aa.

This was during a joint crack down with the National Administration Officers (NGAO) at Burlo Village, Kisumu East Sub-County.

According to the National Police Service, the arrests were made after they got information of the existence of the notorious and unlicensed illicit brew den in the area.

"The eight were arraigned in a Kisumu Court to answer to charges of Contravening the Alcoholic Drinks Control Act 2010 earlier this morning," NPS said.

The police further warned Kenyans to be careful with what they consume during this festive season, as they try to ensure each one remains safe as they make merry.
