When President Uhuru Kenyatta gazetted appointments for the 34 judges into various courts, spotlight was on High Court judges George Odunga, Weldon Korir, Aggrey Muchelule, Evans Kiago, Judith Omange and Joel Ngugi.
Not much was said about other judges including Laibuta Kibaya Imaana until the time came for taking oath of office.
Every action from how he walked towards the podium to how he uttered the oath was simply beautiful and magical. His impaired vision only added beauty to the swearing-in ceremony held on June 4, 2021.

Listening to his words reminded Kenyans of his intelligence and brilliance that had been witnessed in previous interviews with Judicial Service Commission.
From his heart, oozed the confidence and diligence that the judiciary needs.
“I Laibuta Kibaya Imaana judge of the Court of Appeal do solemnly affirm in the name Almighty God to diligently serve the people and the Republic of Kenya.
“And to impartially do justice in accordance with this constitution as by-law establish and the laws and customs of the Republic of Kenya without fear, favour, bias, affection, ill will, prejudice or any political, religious or other influence in the exercise of the judicial functions entrusted to me.
“I will at all times and to the best of my knowledge and ability protect, administer and defend this constitution with the view to uphold the dignity and the respect for the judiciary and the judicial system of Kenya and promoting fairness, independence, competence and integrity within it so help me God,” he read the oath.
Laibuta was appointed as Court of Appeal judge alongside Francis Tuiyott, Nyamweya Pauline, Lesiit Jessie, Msagha Mbogholi, Hellen Amollo and Grace Mumbi.
The other 28 appointees also took oath of office into Employment and Labour Relations, and Environment and Land courts.
